Clothing
- Footwear: Use old tennis shoes (aqua socks work well; we have some available) or water shoes, or warm waterproof boots.
- Hiking boots: Optional for layover day hiking (tennis shoes can be used instead).
- Muck boots or similar footwear are recommended.
- Socks: Choose polypropylene or wool.
- Shirts: Long-sleeved shirts are best for sun protection and cold weather; consider both.
- Long underwear: Opt for polypropylene, Smartwool, or Capilene.
- Sweater or jacket: Select fleece or wool.
- Headwear: Use a baseball cap or visor (with a strap) for sun protection, and a non-cotton beanie or equivalent for cold weather.
- Sunglasses with a strap; prescription glasses with a strap if needed.
- Extra shirts, pants, shorts, and shoes for use in camp; cotton is acceptable for camp clothing.
- Rain gear: REQUIRED! If you are a large person, our splash gear may be too tight, so it's good to have some heavy-duty rain gear just in case. In-camp rain gear is more comfortable than wearing splash gear all day.
Rain gear is a must: We must travel everyday regardless of the weather. NO cotton while on the boat. There is a lot of white water on the run expect to get wet. Wet cotton pulls the heat right out of you. Please NO cotton underneath while on the river.
